Medical Expenses

Although medical expenses are much cheaper in the Dominican Republic than in the United States, few people have medical insurance and most people do not have the excess money to spend on medicine or medical care.  Along with the general expense of a hospitalization, the patient or patient’s family is expected to provide the linens, toiletries, meals and in-room care for the patient.  The incurred hospital bill must be paid in full before dismissal, so until the bill is paid, the patient is not released, and the bill continues to increase daily.  Often, these are reasons that the poor and underserved will not seek medical care.  It is our mission to alleviate the financial burden of those in need and assist with basic medical expenses such as immunizations, antibiotics, well-child exams and doctor’s visits.  And, when the need arises, we will provide the necessities required for hospitalization.
